Aerial Pole Courses
If you have not signed up for classes in advance, we now have $35+HST walk-in options available for the Beginner levels and above! You can join a single class by paying at the front desk if there’s space in the class! NOTE: this option is not available for Introductory classes.
LEVEL 1: Introduction to Aerial Pole class series
Nov 15 – Dec 20 | Saturdays | 3-4:15pm
This entry-level Introduction to Aerial Pole course is required for students with NO EXPERIENCE in any sort of gymnastic, dance or aerial sport discipline to learn how to safely and properly use the apparatus in order to mitigate potential risk of injury.
This Introductory course is designed for adult students (age 16+) who are completely brand new to the aerial arts and/or need a more detailed approach for developing the foundational strength, technique and knowledge for practicing aerial pole safely. In this course, students will be introduced to basic conditioning for aerial pole and foundational techniques such as climbs, sits, arm holds, spins, and entry-level sequencing.
This class is designed as a crash-course for those who are wanting to try out aerial pole for the first time, so repeated registration is welcomed but not necessary: all of the knowledge and skill introduced in this entry-level course will be reviewed and practiced in the beginner level and beyond.
PREREQUISITES: NO prerequisite abilities needed! This is an entry-level course.
Students are recommended to wear long fitted clothing to ensure best comfort and grip on the poles.
Max 8 students per class, min 2 students to run.
$180+tax per 6-week course (registration closes 24hrs prior to start of first class in the 6 week series)
NO DROP-INS
LEVEL 2: Beginner Aerial Pole class series
Nov 15 – Dec 20 | Saturdays | 4:30-5:45pm
This beginner level course is designed for adult students (age 16+) who have taken at least one session of the Introduction to Aerial Pole course, or have equivalent knowledge, and feel comfortable with an accelerated overview of foundational techniques and drills.
At this level, students are familiar with the foundational techniques, but are still working towards building the strength and technique needed to comfortably execute these skills in sequence. Much of the foundational content from the introduction course will be reviewed and expanded upon with more challenging techniques and sequences that build endurance and coordination. Students will also be introduced to drills and techniques to begin developing inversions and inverted shapes on the aerial pole.
PREREQUISITES: Must have completed at least one series of the Introductory course, or have an equivalent level of training. Must be familiar with climbing the pole, able to perform a pole sit, and maintain any arm hold for at least 10 seconds.
Students are recommended to wear long fitted clothing to ensure best comfort and grip on the poles.
Max 8 students per class, min 2 students to run.
$180+tax per 6-week course (registration closes 24hrs prior to start of first class in the 6 week series)
$35+tax drop-in class rate (same-day registration at front desk if space available)
Aerial Pole Open Practice
Open Practices are supervised, non-instructional, all-levels drop-in training sessions for students to supplement course learning. Open Practices are for currently registered students, or students who have completed at least one series of classes (or equivalent training). If you have questions regarding your ability to join our Open Practices, please do not hesitate to reach out to the instructor at justino.siow@gmail.com
Open training times are supervised by the Instructor, but are non-instructional/ self-directed 2-hour training sessions for students to practice their aerial skills. Students are welcome (but not required, please take care of your bodies!) to come/stay for the full 2-hour training session. Registration will close 24 hours prior to the start of each Open Practice Training time slot. All students are expected to train responsibly: refrain from experimenting with new skills seen on the internet or skills outside your comfort level, or from teaching other students. Students can use this open time to practice skills that they have been working on in class, or working on personal projects that are within their physical limits.
PREREQUISITES: Open to all levels. Only currently registered students or students who have completed at least one session of classes (or equivalent training) may register for Open Practices.
Max 8 students per training session, min 2 students to run.
